New QSC WideLine
line arrays fly high at the Hartford Civic
Center.
Wavelengths
Pro Audio got the call from
QSC Audio Products
of Costa Mesa California, to bring their
WideLine system down to Hartford CT
for a demo at the Civic Center. North
American Theatrix of Waterbury
CT had designed a new sound system for
the center using the WideLines and the
centers existing subwoofers. The demo
consisted of the rig being flown where
the old boxes hung, up 100 feet. Wavelengths
flew two hangs of nine box's on two
sides of the scoreboard. Power for the
demo came from 2 racks of Power Light
II's controlled by a pair of Basis 914's,
QSC's next generation network audio
system networking, transport, control,
processing and monitoring technologies.
Needless to say, the system performed
as predicted. The management of the
Hartford Civic Center was very impressed
by the coverage and overall sound quality
of the small box.

North
American Theatrix started work
on the install quickly and fabricated
custom fly grids for the line arrays and
subs. A total of 36 QSC WL2102 arrays
were used in the installation. The sound
is focused on each row of the arena, from
floor to the very top, a stunning and
complete coverage!. In attendance at the
demo were Peter Solak from the DL
Henderson Co., Gino Mulcahy from
Mohegan Sun and Brian English,
Director, Sales - Concert Systems
at QSC Audio.
